“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”- Nelson Mandela

We are extremely proud of the progress we have made over the past five years by restoring our building, now Heritage Hall, into Guelph and Wellington’s cultural and spiritual gathering space to promote its rich Black heritage.

So, what’s next?! It is our #1 priority to offer everyone the freedom to share in our space. In our current fundraising campaign, we are determined to accomplish just that!

RAMPIN’ IT UP Fundraising Campaign Goals:

  • Give ‘dignity of person’ to all
  • To achieve wheelchair accessibility into Heritage Hall via the Freedom Ramp, foyer, accessible washroom
  • Fundraising Goal: $50,000

We will accept donations of labour and materials to help off-set construction costs,
e.g., accessible toilet ($500 value) donated by Art Pierterman at Centon Sales.

Please consider a gift to the Guelph Black Heritage Society to help us achieve our important goal. We welcome your support in the form of pledges and donations.
The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) is a registered charity. Registration # 80158 3907 RR0001. Tax receipts will be issued for donations.
