To restore and maintain the historical British Methodist Episcopal (BME) Church building as a community cultural and spiritual gathering space and promote Guelph and Wellington County’s distinctive place in Southwestern Ontario’s rich Black heritage.
Enhance the awareness of the Guelph community regarding its Black heritage and the role of Guelph and Wellington County.
- Provide the community the opportunity to learn about our community’s Black heritage by staging presentations during Black History Month, Emancipation Day and throughout the year. These presentations may include talks/lectures from members of the community, displays of newspaper articles, posters and books, dramatic presentations and poetry readings.
- Be a resource for the community by providing space for events, workshops, meeting space for clubs etc.
- Provide members of the community with rental space for summer day camps and live events (weddings, concerts, etc.).
