The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) presents its Dream Makers Youth Program again this summer. The GBHS desires to provide a safe haven for our young people – an area to develop friendships, to learn from their mentors and to allow them the opportunity to feed their souls by creating a space to have the freedom to be creative, the freedom to dream and the freedom to realise anything is possible.
The Dream Makers will present Code Black, a program geared towards students in grade seven to university. Code Black is a Black-centred program where participants will learn how to build a basic interactive website using HTML and Java. The program is free of charge and will take place in-person at Heritage Hall (83 Essex St, Guelph) from 10:00 am – 2:00pm. The camp will run two sessions, from July 8 – 19 and August 5 – 16. We will be accepting registrations until July 5, 2024. There will be snacks and a pizza lunch on Fridays.
This program is open to all members of the community and there is no charge to register. Space is limited.
