Join us on Thursday February 13, 2025 at 1pm for the next Phoenix Seniors Club event at the Heritage Hall, 83 Essex Street, Guelph.  The Heritage Hall is fully accessible.  Refreshments will be provided and transportation is available.  This event is presented in collaboration with The Buttahfly Initiative.

This month our guest speaker will be Justin Reid, Spoken Word Artist and Cannabis Educator.   Justin will be speaking about the health benefits of cannabis for seniors and the experiences of Black Canadians in the cannabis industry.

Justin is a local spoken word artist and activist who intertwines the power of words with a passion for social change. His poetic voice has resonated across diverse platforms, including TEDxGuelph and RogersTV, showcasing his unique ability to merge advocacy with creativity. His work has even been featured at the Guelph Civic Museum, highlighting his influence within the community.

Beyond the stage, Justin is a certified Level II Cannabis Sommelier, bringing his expertise to platforms such as Business of Cannabis and Diversity Talks, where he has spoken on topics like Black Canadians in Cannabis. With a strong background in community development, he is not only an educator but also a champion for environmental and social justice, using his art to amplify important narratives.
