Celebrate Black Heritage Month with Us!
Mark your calendars for Monday, February 2, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Heritage Hall as we come together for a vibrant celebration of Black Heritage Month. The event begins with the African Nova Scotian flag raising, followed by an inspiring gathering filled with art, music, and community spirit.
Enjoy powerful performances by two exceptional local talents:
- Justin Reid – A spoken word artist and activist known for blending creativity with social advocacy. Justin has appeared on TEDxGuelph and RogersTV and is the founder of HighR Learning, a company focused on cannabis education and empowerment.
- Alpha Kayondo – A Guelph-born musician, composer, and educator whose music fuses lyrical Hip-Hop with cinematic sounds. Alpha has performed with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra and earned a historic perfect score at the Kiwanis Music Festival.
To make the day even more special, Pattie Mon will serve authentic Jamaican-style patties—crafted with premium ingredients and bold Caribbean flavors. From classic beef to jerk chicken and vegetarian options, every bite is a taste of tradition.
Join us for this meaningful celebration of culture, creativity, and community. We can’t wait to see you there!
