- Sponsor
The Juneteenth Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored and administered by Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) (the “Sponsor”).
- Giveaway Period
The Giveaway begins on May 27, 2026 at 1:00 PM (ET) and ends on June 12, 2026 at 4:00 PM (ET).
- Eligibility
The Giveaway is open to legal residents of Ontario who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
Employees, volunteers, and representatives of the Sponsor, and their immediate household members, may not be eligible to participate.
- No Purchase Necessary
No purchase or donation is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or donation will not increase the chances of winning.
- How to Enter
During the Giveaway Period, eligible entrants may enter by completing all of the following steps:
- Follow either of the official GBHS social media accounts (Instagram: @guelphblackheritage or Facebook: @guelphblackheritagesociety)
- Like the official Giveaway post
- Use the hashtag #Juneteenth in a comment under a post related to the Heritage Hall Juneteenth Festival on the GBHS social media accounts
Entries must be completed during the Giveaway Period.
Entry Limit: One (1) entry per person.
Conditions of Entry:
– Social media profiles must be public for verification
– Incomplete entries or entries missing the hashtag #Juneteenth may be disqualified
– Use of automated or fraudulent entry methods is prohibited
- Alternate Free Entry Method
Individuals may also enter the Giveaway without using social media by:
– Submitting their name and contact information via google form or paper ballot at the Heritage Hall.
All entries will have an equal chance of winning.

Prize(s):Two 2 night stay at Staybridge Suites (June 19th and 20th, 2026), GBHS Swag Bag, Dinner at Di Patty Shop (June 20th, 2026) and two tickets to the Black Heritage Reclaimed Bus Tour (June 21st, 2026)

Approximate retail value (ARV): $800
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable.
- Winner Selection
A random draw will take place on June 12, 2026 at approximately 4:15 PM (ET) from all eligible entries received.
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries.
- Winner Notification & Requirements
Selected entrants will be contacted via email or phone.
To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:
– Respond within 24 hours
– Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without assistance
– Sign a release form.
If a selected entrant fails to meet these requirements, another entrant may be selected.
- Publicity
By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to allow the Sponsor to use their name and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- Privacy
Personal information will be used solely for the administration of this Giveaway and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
- General Conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Giveaway if necessary due to technical issues, fraud, or other circumstances beyond its control.
The Sponsor may disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or violates these rules.
- Release of Liability
By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its representatives from any claims arising from participation in the Giveaway or use of any prize.
- Governing Law
This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada.
